Events : Gala Expo!

Well, it’s the end of a lovely Sunday. My back hurts from hard concrete floors, my toes have blisters on top of blisters, and I’m trying my hardest to keep my eyes open as I right this I’m so tired. But it was all worth it!! And for those of you who were there, you know why!
Taken with my iPhone as I forgot my camera at home. Ha, only the photographer would forget her camera.
Today was the long awaited ACS Formals – Gala Expo! And we had a blast! So many people went through our booths! Brides and Grooms to be, Mothers of Brides, Maids of Honour, High School Grads, you name it you came! I want to thank each and everyone of you for stopping by, picking up a card, and entering our draw.
Our lucky winner was Renelle Leger! Congratulations to her!
You’ll notice a bit more activity around here this week. Updating, adding more portfolio examples, so on and so forth.
I also want to launch my current Wedding Packages. Those of you that attended today might have seen a preview, so now you can see it all in detail.
… and now is it too early to start planning for next years?

Events: Visit from Trick Factory Customs!
January 11, 2010 | Filed Under Events | Leave a Comment
A lot of you know by now that I try to spend as much time as I can with the Bike Klub based out of Bernice MacNaughton High School in Moncton, NB. If you don’t know their story, please feel free to check out their brand new website, designed by yours truly, and read their story, check out the bikes, and visit some of their sponsors. You can also see the past blog post about my photos of the Bike Klub and their bikes being featured in the Spring 2009 issue of Achieve magazine.
Anyway, back to the point of this blog post. The Bike Klub was paid a visit too by members of Trick Factory Customs of New Westminster, British Columbia this weekend. Trick Factory Customs, as simply described on their Facebook group, “we do all things custom. Choppers, hot rods, boats.” Rob and Tim landed on Saturday and spent the weekend teaching the Bike Klub kids so many things you couldn’t list them all, but their main project was a custom gas tank for Roxanne.
I managed to spend some time with the Klub on Saturday and snapped some shots.

Some creative brainstorming..

Rob starting Roxanne’s tank. Probably one of the coolest processes to watch.

Tim teaching some of the club some welding techniques.
Another photoshoot with the Bike Klub is planned for later this month as well designs for vinyl display banners, as they prepare for the 2010 Atlantic Motorcycle & ATV Show at the Moncton Coliseum. Keep checking back for those pictures.
Events : Mayflower Alpaca Show
August 8, 2009 | Filed Under Events | Leave a Comment
So, my blogging is a little backlogged…. as we are now August and I’m going to write about an event that was held in May…. However, I still wanted to share this event with you all, just to shine a light on these super cool animals.
I’d never taken pictures of an Alpaca before… or even been close enough to touch one. So, when Scuffed Boots Photography ventured over to the Crapaud Agriplex in Crapaud, PEI to photograph the 2009 Mayflower Alpaca Show, I wasn’t really 100% sure what to expect.
I mostly do equine photography, and some cattle photography as I own beef cattle… but never Alpacas. But I’m always up for new things. And let me tell you, Alpacas are a pretty cool animal. So a little run down on the event, they did the normal breed classes.. judged on conformation AND the quality of the fibre, which was really neat to see. They also had youth classes on Sunday afternoon which had kids maneuvering young cria (see I even picked up some of the lingo!) through a pretty intense trail pattern, as well as some showmanship classes. There were also demonstrations on shearing and alpaca photography, as well as booths set up with products made from Alpaca fiber. I tried to get some shots of everything just because there were so many things going on at this event. Congratulations goes to the show organizers, and all the Maritime alpaca breeders that came out! Now onto the pics!

The colors of this hand painted alpaca yarn is so vibrant!

Sneak Peak (x2): True North Agility and Rachel & Katrina’s Session!
March 22, 2009 | Filed Under Events, Shoots | 1 Comment
Well today I have a larger sneak peak than normal, as it’s been a busy week! I had a great photo session on Thursday evening with two lovely ladies. Katrina and Rachel answered my ‘casting call’ for models when i was asking a few weeks ago. And am I ever glad that we decided to do this shoot! We had a blast in Centennial Park in Moncton, with great warm spring weather!
Here are some of my favorites from Thursday:
And Saturday I spent the day in Truro, Nova Scotia, photographing the True North Agility AAC event at the Agridome! This was a great learning experience, with some very talented dogs and handlers. I’m very excited about these pictures, and hope to continue shooting more agility trials!
All of the photos I have will be placed in the True North Agility – March 21 album in Proofs section of my website. (It can take up to 2 weeks for all of the photos to be uploaded. If you are looking for pictures of certain dogs, please feel free to email me for information.)
And that’s the sneak peak for this week! Keep checking back for more pictures.
